Chhimkeshwori, known for its religious values, is the highest point of Tanahun district, which lies above 2,134m from Sea Level.

At the top of the hill, there is the temple of Goddess Chhimkeshwori and hindu devotees from all around the country visit here and worship.

Goddess Chhimkeshwori is the second goddess out of 7 sisters. Other 6 goddesses are Budhi Kanya Mai (1st), Gorkha Kalik (3rd), Manakamana (4th), Ichhyakamana (5th), Annapurna (6th) and Akala Mai (7th) respectively.

Goddess Budhi Kanya and Chhimkeshwori Mai are next to each other whereas the other six are on surrounding hills.

From the top of Chhimkeshwori, you can get the views of mountain ranges from Dhaulagiri to Langtang. And cities like Bandipur, Gorkha, Manakamana, Thankot, Bharatpur, Gaidakot, etc. can be seen on a clear sunny day.

It is said that since her sisters started taking offerings of animals, Goddess Chhimkeshwori started facing in the opposite direction, showing her back to them. 

Blessings to No Colors in Fagu Purnima (Holi)

Especially during Fagu Purnima or Holi, devotees from all around the country visit here and it is believed that if anyone worships the goddess with no color applied on their body then their wishes will be fulfilled by the goddess.

After worshiping, they can play with the colors and enjoy Holi (Fagu Purnima), the festival of Colors.

Chhimkeshwori lies at an altitude of 2,134m in Aanboo Khaireni Rural Municipality of Tanahun District, Province 4 (Gandaki Province).

How to Get to Chhimkeshwori?

You can get to Chhimkeshwori from Aanboo Khaireni, Tanahun (7 KM from Mugling towards Pokhara, Prithivi Highway), then take a rural road to Chhimkeshwori (19KM to Labdi from Aanboo Khaireni).

From here, you can either take a public jeep (Bolero) or on your own vehicle (Bike, Scooter or Car).

You can also get to Chhimkeswori either from Bandipur or Chitwan (Ghumauney) on similar rural roads.
