Taksindu Monastery




Taksindu Monastery also known as “Takgon Sheddrup Tharling Monastery” is one of the oldest monasteries in Everest region built in 1946 under the guidance of a revered Rinpoche (monk of Tengboche Monastery). The historic buddhist monastery is located at an altitude of 2,900m above sea level.
Taksindu monastery is also a center for Mahayana Buddhism learning.
The monastery is normally open both early in the morning and late afternoon, and welcomes everyone.
From the Taksindu La view point you can also enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the mountain range including Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, etc.
How To Get To Taksindu Monastery?
You can either fly or drive to Phaplu from Kathmandu.
And then from Phaplu, you can either hike or drive to Taksindu Monastery.
